Being Me: Week 41

October 6, 2019

"Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change."

Being Me: Week 41- Do the work (if you want change)

October theme:  We can't become what we want by remaining what we are

There are less than 90 days left in the year as we count down to 2020. Another year of goals and lists, intentions and promises and another year of seeking change. But until you make the commitment to change something, even just one thing, nothing else will change. The year will come to its end as you attempt to recall what made it different from the past?

To help you find your direction for 2020 start now and commit to something new.

Every year at the close of the year I begin new lists of goals and dreams. A bucket list of what I want the year to represent. I love the promise of a new year with all its hope and possibility. Even if the list seems repetitive; lose weight, organize, write more, drink more water, find my purpose, I am still making baby steps towards change. And the easiest way to do that is to create habits around the change I seek.

This past January, I decided to spend thirty days following Whole 30, creating a clean slate of what affects my body and how I feel. That shift was all I needed to catalyst the change I had been seeking for a lifetime. Just like once I quit smoking, a whole new world of possibility was revealed.

Those 30 days taught me how food affects my body and how I feel and with small adjustments I made better decisions for my future self.
