Being Me: Week 39 - Trust yourself

September theme: Sometimes we can learn and study and know, and sometimes we have to believe, trust and hope


Sometimes trusting our thoughts and decisions can be difficult, especially when it goes against the norm. And while wisdom comes with age, the first step to trusting ourselves is to be ourselves, and not what we think others want us to be. 

After navigating life these past 55 years, I finally have come to understand when others judge you, it is a measure of who they are. Their perception of you is a reflection of them which has nothing to do with you, so choose accordingly.

By making small, reasonable goals, that you will follow through with you begin to build the trust you need in yourself. With the repetition of failed goals, we lose faith in our ability to achieve them. By accomplishing smaller goals, we begin to build that trust again.

To help you establish trust in yourself you MUST make decisions decisively. Don't question every choice you make, trust that it is the right one for you or if it is not that you can make it work.

Trust in ourselves comes from building upon the strengths we already possess. The framework of this small detail can grow into more confidence elsewhere.

You know the things you are good at... now you just need to trust yourself to follow through.
