Week 8:  What is Hope

We can always find hope in the dawn of a new day, a witness to the sunrise and the sweet smell of breakfast deliver hope. So that slowly as the day spins forward and we stub our toe, or get stuck in traffic, we can reach back to the early morning signs of hope.

Loss has a way of steering us away from hope, no longer believing there is anything to be hopeful for. What can I hope for in the depths of grief, when loss has taken hold of my future.  For a long time, I struggled with hope, no longer believing in the word. But whether we find hope or sit in despair, see the good or wallow in anger, life moves forward.

Hope is a choice that we discover with the passing of time, slowly revealing appreciation in all we have, and the beauty of new beginnings. Hope speaks softly, but if you listen closely, you can discover something to be hopeful for.
