Life has been counted by the weeks...
Three weeks in ICU, 2 weeks in step down, five weeks at Lakewood hospital, endless weeks at Mentis in Stow and most recently, 5 weeks of radiation. "wow, that's a lot of time!" Somehow, the time keeps passing and before we know it and we are out of another phase.

As we drive down the road listening to 70's songs and singing "you make me feel like dancing" at the top of our lungs, I am reminded of the sister I had before the surgery. We laugh and sing and talk about silly things, and that feels good.

But once the song is over and the questions begin again... "did you see dad", and I reply, "no dad died in 1998", oh...
"Are Joe and Rob at your house",...

I often wonder what goes on in her head? What she's thinking, remembering or if its just like static on a television... a sort of silence?
She doesn't say much when you are with her, except for thank you, repeating it so many times I lose count. Or how nice the day is, with her equivalent of nice being the sun is out despite the 20 degree temp. The same can be said on days when she bought lunch...
