My husband, knowing I was having a bad day sent me this in an email... it changed my perspective and I need to post it here to keep referring back to when I go to sink in that hole again!

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with...

Had a whole day of awesome with Debbie and just have to share the postive steps in her journey.
When I arrived to pick her up she was ready to head out the door on an adventure. Our first stop was Corkscrew Saloon where we met up with a dear friend Kim for lunch. It was a great time to catch up since Kim hasn't seen Debbie since before the surgery. Deb was eager to talk about upcoming girlfriend...

    We remember the momements...
And hopefully, one day soon, Debbie too will remember all the moments that lead to her recovery.
I have noticed some recent things are staying with her, but there are others we still have to repeat to her. Like the fact that our father passed away in 1998, or where the boys are, and even saying she never had Christmas with her family and talking about what gifts she needs...

Like a brain injury, dementia is usually not something you can see on the outside, unless of course you are aware of its existence...
My mother was diagnosed with early onset dementia a few years ago and is rapidly declining. The decline is easily spotted by most that know her.

Before she was diagnosed she went through a phase of anger, that has worsened today. But back then she...

    Oh the memories...
I have blogged for many years, and after a while Deb decided she wanted to start a blog, it was a huge goal for her since using the computer alone was somewhat difficult for her. She would have to constantly ask Cameron for assitance, but she did it for a long time!  I have it saved in my blog roll if you have a chance to scroll through.
I went through the other night and found...

Here I am 11 years later after quitting smoking. Something I never thought I would be capable of doing!
So many things changed in my life after I quit...

    2.  I changed the course of my life
    3.  decided to assist in losing the weight I had gained and began running
    4.  Could keep up with my young kids
    5.  Did something nobody...

On Friday we took Debbie to a radiologist to discuss her options in removing the balance of the tumor that they could not get with surgery. We are very concerned with the risks involved, even though they are such a small percentage. Her original surgery had  risks and we know she has suffered them all.
Gamma Knife or extend radiation are neither options for Debbie because of the location of the balance...

I haven't been crafting like I used to and it felt so amazing to get back into it and truly enjoy every step!
I got the kit and thought this would be a great thing for Deb and I. Well I'm glad I put mine together first because pieces come from several different packages and I wouldn't want to overwhelm Deb when we do it.
I'm thrilled with how it came out and can't wait to work with Deb on her...

Coming back to blogging after a long break!
My 2013 was an emotional roller coaster, from personal heartbreak to heart ache for family.  Watching my mother decline daily, my mother in law still fighting a tough battle even after she continues to get knocked down and my sister... my poor sister, who so bravely went into surgery to remove a tumor in August, and still does not know she had surgery today.
    I...
