Well we began the weekend with a girlfriend night out for dinner!  What a blast as usual.  Talking, sharing and laughing about our childhood.
Then we all met up again early Saturday morning to board the bus and head down to the Longaberger Homestead and to Dresden.
Debbie and Brenda drove in from Michigan the night before to go to the dinner and then on the bus trip. Kim always says that Brenda...

Middlesex and I'm almost there.  It's good, don't get me wrong but it took a while to get into it and it seems every night I only read a couple pages and I'm too exhausted to read on.  Yet I picked up Valerie Bertinelli's book and finished that in a week.  Needless to say I'm plugging along here with just over 100 pages left.

Have you seen this book?  Its hilarious!!!  I just started reading...

digital scrapbooking - and I'd like to learn more.  I have many brushes and templates but I need to figure out the basics to get more motivated.  Any good sites with tutorials?  I searched two peas and didn't find anything for a step by step build a layout type of page, etc.
Here's a template I filled with Easter pictures.

the template is by Kellie Mize at Designer Digitals.  I got a lot...

I really want to get in the habit of journaling more.  Not just in my scrapbooks, but in my everyday.  Now my blog serves as a type of journal but I don't put my deepest thoughts and dreams out here - at least most of the time?
I have two journals for my kids I started back in 1996.  In them I wrote only on certain days.  Like the day of their birthday, what they got, what the weather was like...

Last night I worked on a acrylic mini book with my work in progress kit.  I wanted to make an album for a friend for a gift and this just came together so easily with this kit. The Scenic Route papers were perfect for the summer theme I was going for.  Now she just needs to add pictures and journaling.
The acrylic mini I made myself with the materials purchased from Hobby Lobby - info I found out...

the Work in Progress project kit last night.  I love all the bright colors especially since we still have snow.  It helps me think of the warmer days ahead.

The box I already had is wood (this is the largest of the three) that came with a nesting set. One of the many things that I have to alter.  The clipboard was part of the kit.
Zach and I went to see Horton hears a who - we both cracked...

to see my name among the list Aleida had for blogs that make her day.
So now it is my turn to pass this along to the blogs that make my day!
There are a lot of fun blogs out there to read and there are days where I've lost track of time after searching through blogland.
     here are the rules:
the rules for the *you make my day award* are to re-present it to 10 people whose blogs bring...

We did Easter a little bit different this year.  We added the February and March birthday celebration to the day.  Since February & March seemed to be such a busy month we were running out of days.
We still did the usual clues for the kids to work together and find everyone's baskets.  They always have fun doing this and are real good sports about it.  Each kid reads a clue and they all go...
