What bought you JOY - Week 14

April 8, 2017

"Let your joy burst forth like flowers in the spring"

It is not quite dawn and the birds are already busy chirping their songs of joy, a welcome return and one of my favorite signs of spring. All a promise of new beginnings with a flourish of green dressing the naked trees as a Robin returns to its seasonal routine and the daffodils burst with color, these intricate details distribute new joy to the season's fresh start.

The dark that slowly blossoms to bright untucks the grief from its messy folds and provides the pause to focus. With the guidance of a new season, this explosion of life halts my memories to the period of mourning when springs return was an offensive promise permeating the air, a world rejoicing while I was broken.

Gradually, with the patience of each season, I slowly discover the course required to unpack my sorrow. Allocating the permission necessary to awaken to the serenity of life, where dark branches burst with buds of green and I gently embrace the warmth that allows my soul to breathe.

A beacon of memories illuminates my path, providing awareness to the blessing he was and the privilege to know him that softens in the light. This exploration of courage uncovered the remnants of joy when I chose to savor the arrival of spring and the sweet chatter of dawn.
