Making a list for 2016

With my word to help define the year and the intentions I aspire to achieve I approach this new year with resolute excitement. And isn't that how we should feel, excited about the prospect of what is to come, of things we can do and all the possibilities which arise in a New Year?

Working on my word for the year. If you have not tried, here and here are a few places to get you started. It is a powerful way to set intentions. The word I am choosing is still tumbling before me as I vacillate between; joy, flourish, balance, growth, enjoy, grace, focus and fruition.

My intentions for 2016 are...

HEALTH AND FITNESS

  • Run 500 miles
  • complete 16 races for 2016
  • Strength train twice a week
  • New recipe monthly
  • more greens and grains

CAREER

  • Write one more blog posts per week
  • Submit two stories a month to various publications
  • Write more short stories
  • Begin book layout

FINANCIAL

  • Pay off debt
  • Add to savings
  • Mindful spending

BODY AND SOUL

  • Weekly creative time (painting, crafting)
  • Journaling
  • Write gratitude daily
  • Discover joy
  • Meditate 5 minutes daily and increase practice weekly

MINDFUL INTENTIONS

  • Read 50 books or more
  • Try something new (snow ski, water ski, etc)
  • Fill happiness jar
  • Share joy and pay it forward monthly
  • Give the gift of time

HOME

  • Declutter and simplify
  • Finish projects
  • Organize

Here's to a healthy and happy New Year as I look forward to revisiting this list at the end of 2016...
