Another run

and a visit to another city!

Chelsea and I were in Washington DC this past weekend for the Cherry Blossom 10 mile run, and while a lot of the Cherry Blossoms were gone, we still seemed to find them everywhere we roamed!

We found Cherry Blossoms represented on our way to packet pick up, at Georgetown cupcakes and even at our favorite store for workout apparel lululemon!

We waited in line for about 30 minutes for cupcakes at DC Cupcakes, yes the one from the TLC show! And we even enjoyed that with the couple behind us who we laughed the entire way with, as the husband reminded us why he was standing there.... happy wife, happy life... I should have taken a picture of them, they were the sweetest!

Inside DC cupcakes it was very well organized, and we quickly were out the door with our cupcakes.

We also visited several of the museums, most of which are free

Chelsea and Ben outside of one of our favorite museums, it is one of the only museums that has a fee, but it is so worth it. It is called the Newseum and it is filled with news from around the world, from 5 centuries.  Be sure to bring a tissue, although in some areas they are provided for you! Including Pullitzer prize winning photographs and their stories, 911 pictures, stories and newspapers from around the world.  All those things that have made headlines over the years... they are there and MORE.... I don't even think we got to see it all and I'm still just amazed at how wonderful it was.  We even told the couple in line at Georgetown cupcakes and he said "yes honey, we will go there tomorrow"

With Ben living in DC this semester, we got to see so much more of the city, with his knowledge of the Metro we also visited a restaurant called MASA 14 (so cool), Dupont Circle, Circa in Foggy bottom and of course the Capitol, and Jefferson memorial.

Such a beautiful weekend we shared, and that's not even recapping the race. Which although its not included in my 12 of 12, since it was only a 10 mile run, I still have so much more to say about it!
