An ORNAMENTal tale

December 5, 2009

Don't you just love getting out your Christmas decorations.  Just the other day I was telling Chelsea, besides for the overwhelming part, I really do enjoy decorating for the holidays, and a part of that decorating is remembering the details about the decorations and ornaments.  One of your favorite decorations from a friend or the mouse nobody stole from you when you picked numbers at the Michigan Christmas party...

And there are stories with ornaments too!  For years we did a girlfriend ornament exchange with the girls in Michigan.  Each year you would get and make 15+ ornaments and during that time I collected so many ornaments I had to dedicate a "girlfriend" tree for just those such ornaments.

And so today I began decorating those "theme" trees and enjoyed reminiscing about the different ornaments and where they came from...

Can you believe one of the girls made 15+ of these adorable ornaments!

and this adorable snowman... I remember chatting with my friend Linda as she was feverishly trying to finish them up before the party that night.  She had a stroke this past February and is still recovering... now how priceless is that memory and laughter we shared about this ornament!
