Some days you laugh and some you cry...
My adventures with Debbie are a chance to find a fragment of her that once existed. Our discussions crowded with confusion move from childhood stories, our own children growing up and our parents, for which I need to remind her again that our father died almost 17 years ago. These conversations can move us from laughter to tears.
    The ongoing confusion of...

Have you ever wished time away? I know I have...
When I am going through a rough season I close my eyes and wish the time away, offering it a voice. Praying for space to distance me from the pain until  I feel stronger, after already completing the hard work that healing requires.
I know from past experience that time does help, although it requires working through the pain to make you stronger....

How you came into our lives bringing an abundance of joy and laughter...
We got a dog... well of course you already knew that, but this dog was something we've talked about for a few years now.
    debated, discussed and finally, decided.
This sweet man makes me smile endlessly every day as he learns through our teachings the rules of the house.

He is sensitive and dramatic when he knows your...

can lead to many life changing transformations...
Twelve years ago today I quit smoking, something even I did not think I could do and I'm sure many others who were aware of my bad habit grew doubtful  of this undertaking.
I read as much as I could on the subject, talked to many people, and finally set a date or two. It was really last minute when I decided to quit for good and I almost back peddled...

    BE...
Unraveling is not a bad thing. It's not coming undone or losing control. It's letting go in the best possible way, untangling the knots that hold you back, unwrapping the gifts you've hidden for too long, unearthing the potential that's always been there, finally ditching the labels and should-haves, and letting yourself be what you were always meant to be. - Susannah Conway
     So excited...

People see Deb and comment on how well she is doing...
Although she is doing better, the progress is intensely stagnant. Having a couple promising days with with Deb will manifest hope, then the bad days return to dampen your spirits.
For myself the days always begin with excitement and wonder. Excited to see her, yet wonder what our day will turn into. Our relationship obviously is not the same,...

"I let it go, it's like swimming against the current. It exhausts you. After a while, whoever you are, you just have to let it go, and the river brings you home." -Joanne Harris
Have you ever held onto something for so long you couldn't remember why you were holding on?
I had been in a bad place for a long time, an angry place. A place where revenge and hatred were a part of my heart. I knew it...

I saw it and new it was the word for me...
There are words that can define our year or help us define our year and what we wish to focus on. I have followed Ali Edwards ONE LITTLE WORD for many years now and I love the impact it can make on a year...
What's your word going to be? My word is
    BE
    BE grateful
    BE joyful
    BE present
    BE aware
    BE giving
    BE yourself
